Rashgulla-The Magic Of Sweet

Hlw everyone, today I give interesting facts about your and my one of the favorite sweet Rashgulla or Rossogulla.Rasgullas are a popular Indian sweet dish or dessert, commonly found in the states of West Bengal and Odisha. It is tasty and I can't described it's test.
History reveals some interesting facts about the origins of this celebrated Indian sweet Rashgulla.According to historians of Odisha, the rasgulla originated in Puri, as khira mohana, which later evolved into the Pahala rasgulla. It has been traditionally offered as bhog to goddess Lakshmi at Jagannath Temple, Puri.British chef William Harold described it in a journal  – “a bowl of sweet, syrupy, soft cheese balls.”.“Nabin Chandra Das  first established a sweet shop in Jorashanko in 1864. But he went out of business soon and after two years, he opened another establishment in Bagbazar. Determined that he would not peddle run-of-the-mill sweets, he wanted to invent a sweet that would solely be his creation.Das tried to boil chenna balls in sugar syrup, but they would just disintegrate. He finally resolved the problem by using reetha and creating bubbles that would lend a sponginess to the chenna balls. After sustained effort, he was able to master the art of holding the balls together, and thus was born rasgulla. His creation became great success in the whole India. The another story is that the famous Haradhan Moira, sweet-maker of the Pal Chowdhurys of Ranaghat, inventing the rasgulla by accidentally dropping some chenna balls into bubbling syrup. In the late 19th and early 20th century, two confectioneries -the Mullicks of Bhowanipore (this later became Balaram) and Chittaranjan Mistana Bhandar of Sobhabazar -further fine-tuned the delicious sweet. The story goes that Bhagwandas Bagla, a wealthy non-Bengali merchant residing in Kolkata, travelled with sweet across India, resulting in new regional variations.various names of rashgulla are Roshgulla (Sylheti), Rasagulla, Rossogolla, Roshogolla, Rasagola, Rasagolla, and Rasbhari or Rasbari (Nepali).
The Indian space agency, ISRO is developing dehydrated rasgullas and other dishes for Indian astronauts in its planned manned mission in 2016.In 2015, the Odisha government initiated a move to get Geographical indication (GI) status for the rasagulla made in Pahala. On 30 July, the people of Odisha celebrated "Rasagola Dibasa" ("Rasgulla Day") to reaffirm Odisha as the place of the dish's origin. The first Rasagola Dibasa was celebrated on July 30 2015 on Niladri Bije, the day Rath Yatra concluded. In 2015, West Bengal applied for a Geographical Indication (GI) status for "Banglar Rasogolla" (Bengali Rasgulla). The GI office         of Chennai stated that Odisha had not applied GI tag for Rashgulla. Finally West Bengal won the fight with Odisha over the origin Rashgulla.I hope you know amazing facts about Rashgulla.
